Anna Nwalagho

  

Born and raised in Kenya, East Africa, Anna Mwalagho began performing at the tender age of 8. She is a true remarkable renaissance woman, an internationally recognized poet/spoken word artist, singer/songwriter, actress, storyteller and dancer. She has won numerous national awards in her native Kenya and here in the USA. 

Anna Mwalagho is not only a performing artist but also a social activist and a philanthropist. She has been supporting Upendo Educational Children Rehabilitation Center in Nairobi, Kenya (Huruma Slums) since 2008.

In 2016, she formed Upendo Educational Foundation here in the USA which caters for the needs of the less fortunate especially children through education. She was awarded ambassadorship award for representing the Kenyan Diaspora in a positive light through her work by the Jamhuriwood awards. 

appointed an Ambassador for peace by the Inter-Religious and International Federation for Peace, and received "Hope Award" from the eagle awards association for her performing artist service to the community, and promoting positive awareness about Africa. 

She was also a nominee in the Spirit of Diaspora national award.
